Drum Software Replacement and Doubling has recently taken leaps into the stratosphere of realism and ease of use. You could spend ridiculous amounts of money on nice drum triggers or a multi mic set up but we've made a contact mic snake with 8 discs. Plug this into any DAW and the appropriate software instrument or trigger plugin and tweak dynamic range aftwerwards using midi or by setting dB thresholds. Mix in with a nice room mic and decent 'live' drum recordings can be augmented with the triggers to give some amazing sounds.
